Kobarid: Hemingway and the Kobarid Museum
Our journey leads us to the historic town of Kobarid, immortalized in Hemingway's A Farewell to Arms. The highlight is the Kobariški Museum, widely recognized as one of the world's leading museums dedicated to the Great War and a recipient of the Council of Europe Museum Prize.

The Italian Ossuary: Solemn Peace Above the Valley
We ascend St. Anthony's Hill to the Italian Ossuary, a grand monument housing the remains of 7,000 soldiers. From this vantage point, a commanding panoramic view of the valley and the surrounding peaks that once served as brutal battlegrounds.
Gastronomic Kobarid: Flavors of Tradition
Kobarid is the culinary heart of the region, where Alpine traditions meet high-end gastronomy. During our lunch break, you will explore local flavors. The town is renowned for its authentic specialties, such as frika (a hearty mountain cheese and potato dish) and the unique Kobarid štruklji — delicate walnut-filled dumplings that are a true hallmark of local tradition.
Kozjak Waterfall: A Hidden Masterpiece
After lunch, we take a leisurely walk to the Kozjak Waterfall. The path takes us across the famous Napoleon Bridge, offering a breathtaking view of the turquoise Soča, and leads through a scenic gorge until we reach a spectacular rock amphitheater. Here, a 15-meter white water column falls into a turquoise pool, creating one of the most mystical and photogenic natural spots in the country.
